Yang Kun (杨坤) is a notable pop singer in the Chinese mainland. He was most recently chosen to act as one of the four judges on "The Voice of China" (中国好声音), a surprisingly popular singing talent show which has aired on Zhejiang Satellite TV since July 13, 2012.

Yang was born on Dec. 18, 1972, in Baotou, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. From 1989 to 1991, he worked in the Art Troupe of the Baotou Iron and Steel Group Co. Ltd. In 1991, he enrolled into the Art Troupe of the Inner Mongolia Armed Police Corps. From 1992 to 1994, he participated in many joint performances in the region. In May 2001, he signed a contract with the Beijing Bamboo Culture Record Company. In 2002, his first album "I Don't Care" was published. In 2006, he joined the Huayi Bros. Media Group. In April 2008, Yang held his first concert at Beijing Workers' Stadium. In May-September 2009, he participated in a series of joint performances organized by CCTV. In August 2010, his second concert was held at the Dalian Maritime University Stadium. In December 2011, his third concert was held at the Beijing Olympic Sports Center.

Yang is known to the public and musical circles for his unique singing voice and a bold, unconstrained singing style. His representative works, including the songs of "I Don't Care", "That Day", "Poor Romance", and "Herdsman", have been embraced by Chinese audiences. He has been considered one of the best singers currently performing in the Chinese mainland.

In 2012 Yang was asked to act as one of the four judges on "The Voice of China" (中国好声音), a singing talent show broadcast on Zhejiang Satellite TV. His fellow judges are Liu Huan, Na Ying, and Harlem Yu.
