Beijing Workers' Stadium is the eldest member in the family of the Chinese stadiums. It was built in 1959 over an area of 350,000 square meters. Its building area covers 80,000 square meters. The stadium has an oval-shaped concrete frame structure, is 282 meters long from north to south, and 208 meters wide from east to west. It has 24 stands partitioned by railing with a total seating capacity of 71,112.

It is now a professional football field meeting the standards prescribed by the FIFA, but can also be used for track and field events and other sports competitions. In the past 48 years, it has witnessed countless sports competitions and various large-scale activities, including the Great Wall Cup Football Invitational Tournament, the Kodak Cup Football Tournament, and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th National Games, the 11th Asian Games, the 6th Far Eastern and South Pacific Games for the Disabled and the "Hongta Cup" Friendly Match with Real Madrid. Apart from the home matches of the Beijing Football Team in the National Division A League, the stadium was once the field for the home matches of the Chinese national team.
