Third national economic census

China's third national economic census (第三次全国经济普查) began on Dec. 31, 2013.
Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli was selected by the State Council to lead the group responsible for organizing and implementing the census.
The third economic census, completed in September, 2014, collected basic information on the industrial and service sectors and more detailed information on economic changes. The survey will be used to improve decision-making and economic growth efficiency.
The economic census (经济普查) is conducted once every five years in China. It is used to collect information on Chinese enterprises, clarify the layout and scale of industrial sectors and probe new industries.
