The Republican Daily News
The Republican Daily News, a newspaper aiming to bring down Yuan Shikai's new Empire of China, was first published in Shanghai on January 22, 1916. The newspaper's founder was Chen Qimei, director of general affairs for the Chinese Revolutionary Party (later renamed as the Kuomintang). Its chief editors were Ye Chucang and Shao Lizi. Famous writers Dai Jitao and Shen Xuanlu also contributed to the newspaper.
The newspaper was a major opinion front of the Chinese Revolutionary Party.
