The Law Committee of the National People's Congress and the Ministry of Justice jointly released the Statute Book of the People's Republic of China on October 9, 2002.
The book included all documented forms of legal norms, namely laws (interpretation of law and decisions on legal issues), administrative regulations, local laws, regulations on the exercise of autonomy, specific regulations, ministries regulation, local government regulations and judicial interpretation. It covered the constitution, civil and commercial law, administrative law, economic law, social law, criminal law and litigation and non-litigation procedure law, as well as international treaties that the Chinese government had signed.
