Singapore Pavilion in 2010 Shanghai Expo

The Singapore Pavilion at the World Expo looks like a giant music-box and features a roof garden full of the tropical flora the city-state is famous for.

Visitors pass by fountains on their way into the pavilion. Just inside the entrance, there are interactive touch screens that display video clips of Singapore and its people. Visitors can also play a game called Metro-Nome. By synchronizing their jumps on four trampolines, they can start audio-visual presentations of Singapore's skyline and its trademark cuisine.

There is a roof garden where visitors can stroll through golden orchids and blue-green ferns that recall Singapore's tropical gardens. A fine mist of water cools the outdoor heat, while indoors, huge fans provide a comfortable environment.

The chief attraction of the garden is the Dendrobium Singapore Shanghai Symphony - a jade and gold-hued hybrid orchid created specially for the Expo to symbolize the beauty of the two cities Singapore and Shanghai.

The pavilion is the largest ever built by Singapore for an Expo.
