Covering an area of 40 sq km, Shanghai Pudong International Airport (IATA code: PVG) is located in the east of Shanghai, about 30 km away from the city center. The airport is a major aviation hub in Asia, especially in East Aisa. With two terminals, three runways, 2,400,000-sq km apron, 224 aircraft parking positions, 70 boarding gates, and advanced facilities and management system, the airport is able to hand 60 million passengers and 4,200,000 tons of air cargo annually and provide 24-hour round services. It is serving for 60 domestic and foreign airlines, connecting with over 70 cities in China and 90 cities abroad. A station for the Shanghai Maglev Train is sited between the two passenger teminals, providing the world's first commercial high-speed maglev service from downtown Shanghai to Pudong in about 8 minutes.
