Pu Shuhe

Pu Shuhe (Chinese: 卜漱和) is a member of the Democratic Revolutionary Party and sits on the CPPCC National Committee. She is a senior engineer, and an authority on hydraulic machinery.

Pu spent 17 years working on water conservancy projects in Gansu and Shaanxi provinces after graduating in 1963. In 1980 she was transferred to Beijing where she helped plan the South-to-North Water Diversion Project.

Pu joined the Ministry of Water Resources in 1997 and took charge of inspecting major engineering projects.

In 2005, the Dongjiang-Shenzhen water supply project received the Lu Ban Prize, China’s highest award for construction quality. Pu had been in charge of inspection and quality control from planning to the completion of the project. She introduced advanced technology from overseas into the project, which supplies water to households and industry in Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
