Moen Church

Moen Church, just facing the People's Square and located at the crossroad of Xizang Road (M.) and Jiujiang Road, the very heart of Shanghai, is a Christian church.

The name Moen means "immersed in the grace of God" in Chinese. It was originally called Moore Church, first established by an American Methodist missionary in 1874. It has a tall bell tower of brick and wood, with a seating capacity of 1,000 people. Now its the seat of Shanghai Municipal Christian Three-Self Patriotic Movement Committee and Shanghai Municipal Christian Affairs Committee.
