Liu Qibao (刘奇葆), born in January 1953, is a male ethnic Han from Susong, Anhui Province. He entered the workforce in September 1974 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in December 1971. He graduated from Jilin University with a major in national economic planning and management, has an in-service postgraduate education and holds a master's degree in economics.
He is currently a member of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and head of its Publicity Department.
