Li Moran

Li Moran (李默然) was renowned Chinese performing artist.

Born in December 1927 in Shangzhi county of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, Li started his performing career in 1947.

He won nationwide fame for playing the role of a patriotic general in film "the Naval Battle of 1894 (between China and Japan)" in 1962.

He featured in more than 60 plays in his whole career and was awarded the lifetime achievement award of the top-level Magnolia Stage Performance Award in 2007.

Li also held the posts of the honorary chairman of Chinese Dramatists Association and honorary president of Liaoning People's Art Theater.

He died in Beijing on Nov. 8, 2012 at the age of 85.
