Kumtula Caves

From Wiki China org cn

Located 30 km southwest of Kuqa, Kumtula Caves are considered one of the important Buddhist ruins of the ancient Qiuci (“Kuci” Uygur) and Gaochang (“Qara-hoja” in Uygur). The artistic style of the murals in the 112 existing caves is similar to those of Mogao Grottoes at Dunhuang, which absorbed the artistic elements from India and showed unique Qiuci flavors. Kumtula Caves have been listed as key cultural relics under state protection.
