Jianfeng Ridge

Located in Ledong County and covering an area of about 1,600 hectares, Jianfeng Ridge is China's first national tropical rainforest park. Found in the park are over 2,000 species of vascular plants and 303 tree species belong to 74 families and 171 genera, in addition to more than 20 animal species, including leopards, red deer, pythons and flying squirrels, all of which are under state protection. Moreover, there are over 150 species of birds, including peacock pheasants under state protection and seven species of woodpeckers. It is also home to over 4,000 species of insects, including 449 butterfly species.
