Zhang Zuoxiang (1881～1949), also named Fuchen, once served as deputy commander in charge of border defense of Northeast China and Chairman of Jilin provincial government. During his stay in Tianjin, the Japanese puppet army threatened and enticed him to take up the puppet post, but he never agreed.
The residence, a typical eclectic house, is a 2-storied brick-wood building with an attic. The building has an interlaced slope roof. The exterior is plastered with rich architraves. The interior decorations are very exquisite with every detail looked after.
