Baiku Yao, a branch of the Yao Ethnic Group, calls themselves as "Duonu". With a population of over 30000, the branch is mainly distributed in Lihu and Bawei, the two Yao villages in Nandan, as well as Libo in Guizhou Province. Lihu Yao Village is located in the northeast of Nandan, and the people of Baiku Yao take up over 67% of the total population (over 18,000) in the village, and hence it is called "Home of China's Baiku Yao". Because of historical, traditional and environmental reasons, Baiku Yao still maintains its unique, intact and rich tradition and culture, including dyeing and weaving culture, etiquette culture, institutional culture, bronze drum culture, funeral culture, architectural culture, etc. Ecomuseum of Baiku Yao Ethnic Group at Lihu is composed of two parts, the exhibition center and the original protection sites of three villages, i.e. Manjiang, Huatu and Huaqiao at Huaili. The exhibition center covers 3 mu, with a total construction area of 900 square meters and a total investment of 1.8 million yuan.
