Cuandixia Village

Cuandixia Village is located in the Northwest of Zhaitang Town, Mentougou District of Beijing.

It owns 76 gorgeous historic siheyuan (courtyard homes) from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The village is surrounded by mountains so that it looks like a castle. A winding and rugged lane built from many oddly-shaped stones, purple stone and greystone, winds its way from east to west. The houses feature this vivid stone, wood and brick carvings, reflecting ancient Chinese culture. In the Qing Dynasty, it was a distributing center for businessmen, so it was very prosperous.

How to get there: No.929, 326, 336, getting off at Hetan to change to a bus to Cuandixia.

Tips: Most villagers provide food and accommodation, prices from 10-20 yuan. and there is no mobile signal available.
