On September 22, 1998, the China Copyright Protection Center was set up in [Beijing]. Its main functions include the registration of copyrights for computer software and published works from other countries and regions, including Hong Kong and Macao; registration of pledge contracts on copyright; verification and registration of publishing contracts of imported audio-video products; and public information. Authorized by the National Copyright Administration, the center is also responsible for the collective management of copyrights for text, fine arts, photography and multi-media works.
