Chen Wenbin

Since 1996, Chen Wenbin has trained six weightlifters to become world champions. They are Wang Guohua, Wan Jianhui, Shi Zhiyong, Wu Meijin, Zhang Guozheng and Li Hongli. He received certificates of honor in sports issued by the State Sports Administration on five occasions between 1996 and 2002. In 1999, he was named one of China's 10 best coaches.
The three weightlifters he coached – Shi Zhiyong, Zhang Guozheng and Wu Meijin – won two gold medals and one silver at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004, and, as a result, he has been honored as a gold medal coach.
In 2008, the Chinese weightlifting team won eight gold and one silver.
