1978: Vice Premier of the State Council Deng Xiaoping arrived in Japan to pay an official goodwill visit.

1986: Marshal Ye Jianying passed away.

1999: China National Working Commission on Aging came into existence.

2002: The China Enterprise Confederation and US Business Week co-organized the CEO Forum which was built around the theme of "Rethinking the 21st Century Corporation: Balancing Turbulence, Power and Responsibility."
