21st Century Committee for China-Japan Friendship

21st Century Committee for China-Japan Friendship was founded on March 23, 1984, when Yasuhiro Nakasone, then Japanese Prime Minister, visited China.

The mission of the committee is to facilitate stable development of China-Japan friendship in accordance with the principles of peace and friendship, equality and mutual benefit, mutual trust, and long-term stability. The committee also makes suggestions to the governments of the two countries concerning politics, economy, culture, and science and technology.

To date, the committee has had 17 meetings. The first chief members of each side were Wang Zhaoguo and Tadao Ishikawa.
