Located in Tai'an City, Mount Tai is reputed as the "First Mountain Under Heaven." In the 2,000-plus years from the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC) to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), more than ten emperors went to Mount Tai to personally make sacrifices to Heaven. At the same time, Mount Tai became a holy site for Daoists, Buddhists, and Confucians. Another unique feature of Mount Tai is that numerous men of letters have left it with countless famous poems and calligraphic works over the years.
