Ji Zheng (Chi Cheng), a girl from Chinese Taipei, finished her 80m hurdle race in 10.4 seconds to take a bronze medal at the 19th Olympic Games in Mexico in 1968. Although it was a bronze medal, Chi Cheng was the first Asian athlete winning an Olympic medal since the women's track and field events were first added to the Amsterdam Olympic Games in 1928, and the first Chinese woman to win an Olympic medal in Olympic history.
