Han Changfu

Born in October 1954 in Bin County, Heilongjiang Province, Han joined the Communist Party of China in January 1974 and started working in July 1976. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Renmin University of China, and then earned a master’s degree in Law. Since 1990, he has successively served as the member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, vice director of the Office of the Central Leading Group on Financial and Economic Affairs, executive vice minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, vice Party secretary and executive vice director of the State Council Research Office, and Minister of Agriculture.

In December 2006, he was appointed the vice governor and acting governor of Jilin Province.

In January 2007, he was elected governor of Jilin Province.

In May 2007, he was elected vice secretary of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee.

In January 2008, he was re-elected governor of Jilin Province.

On December 1, 2009, he resigned his post of governor of Jilin Province

On December 26, 2009, he was appointed Minister of Agriculture.

Han was member of the 17th CPC Central Committee.
