China Sports Museum

It is China's first specialized museum centering on the collection, exhibition and research of sports materials. The museum has a central hall and four exhibition halls. China's ancient sports are a bright pearl in the cultural treasury of China.

The cultural relics, paintings, rubbings and photos housed here re-emerge such activities as martial art, arrow, wrestle, ancient football, polo, I-go, breath-controlling exercise etc, reflecting the colorful sports culture of the Chinese People.

The part of China's modern sports introduces the evolution of sports in China from 1840 to 1949 which include the sports activities in the revolutionary bases under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party.

The hall of sports achievements made in new China displays many pictures, models and practicalities that reflect the Party's and the State's deep concerns with the sports cause and the glorious achievements in the construction of sports areas for the public.

The history of China's participation in modern Olympic Games and the development of athletics in New China are on display in the fourth exhibition hall.
