Beidaihe (北戴河) is a scenic spot located 15 kilometers southwest of Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province. It faces Bohai to the south and has the Lianfeng Hills, with their forests of pine and cypress, as a back drop. The beach is two kilometers wide and extends for 10 kilometers from Daihekou in the west to Eagle Rock in the east. With its beautiful winding coastline and its pleasant, moderate climate, Beidaihe Beach is a popular spot for summer vacations. (More...)

Mogao Caves (Gansu Province,1987, World Cultral Herritage)

Standing 25 km southeast of Dunhuang, the Mogao Grottoes(莫高窟) have experienced the Northern Wei, Western Wei, Northern Zhou, Sui, Tang, Song, Western Xia, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.

The rows of caves on Mingsha Hill spread across 1,600 m and divide into the south and north areas. Distributed across the cliff face like a honeycomb, the caves are 15 to 30 m above the ground. The caves in the south area are the more significant, as they contain a large amount of statues and frescos from several dynasties. The caves in the north area were predominantly places for meditation and living quarters for the monks. (More...)

With stone bridges, white walls, water lily ponds and hills, Hongcun Village has been described as a village out of a traditional Chinese ink painting.

Hongcun Village (宏村) is about 11 km from the county town of Yixian County. The whole village was originally laid out in the shape of an ox. The west end of the village, called Leigang Hill, resembles an ox head and that is where two huge trees stand like ox horns. (More...)

Jin Liqun

Jin Liqun (金立群), former vice finance minister of China is secretary general of the multilateral interim secretariat for establishing the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) . He spent a few months shuttling between countries to convince them to join the bank. On July 6, 2015, Jin was nominated as China’s candidate for president of the AIIB. Peking Opera 京剧

While they may differ only slightly in costume and makeup, all traditional opera forms, including Peking opera (京剧), are, strictly speaking, "regional," in that each is based on the music and dialect of a specific area. Since, however, Peking opera assumed its present form about two hundred years ago in Beijing, then the capital of the Qing Dynasty, it is usually regarded as a national art form. It was developed and improved by masters of the performing arts for many generations before it reached maturity and perfection. It is considered a superb art form, famous for its great artistic skill in singing, dancing and martial arts. Peking opera is the most representative of all Chinese traditional dramatic art forms. Tongli

The 1000-year-old township of Tongli (同里古镇) took its original shape during the time of the Song Dynasty (960-1279). It is located 10 km west of Zhouzhuang and 18 km from Suzhou City. The community is surrounded by five lakes – Tongli, Jiuli, Yeze, Nanxing and Pangshan. It is a genuine water town, where waterside buildings are found everywhere. Hukou Waterfall

The Hukou Waterfall, the second largest in China, is located 165 km to the west of Fenxi City, Shanxi Province, and 50 km to the east of Yichuan, Shaanxi Province. The width of the waterfall changes with the season, usually 30 m wide but increasing to 50 m during flood season. It has a drop of over 20 m. When the Yellow River is blocked by mountains on both sides, its width is abruptly narrowed down to 20-30 m. It rushes down from the narrowed mountain mouth, forming a grand waterfall, as if water is pouring down from a huge pot. Hence its name Hukou (literally "Kettle Spout") Waterfall. (More...)

Beidou

The Beidou Navigation Satellite System (北斗卫星导航系统) is a global navigation satellite system developed by China.

The system is composed of three parts: The space section, the ground section and the users’ section. In the system, a total of five geostationary orbit satellites and 30-non geostationary orbit satellites operate in space. Meanwhile, a certain number of stations, including the main control stations and the monitoring stations, operate from the ground.
