1922: Representatives from the Communist Party of China (CPC) attended the Comintern conference. Chen Duxiu was elected a member of the Comintern Executive Committee.

1937: Chiang Kai-shek turned down Japan's seven peace terms to end the war between the two nations

1960: China launched its first ground-to-ground short-range missile, Dong Feng-1 (DF-1), from Jiuquan base in Gansu Province.

1992: Two promotional planes crashed to an iron pole on the roof of the Huanghe Building when conducting low-altitude flying in Yuanyang City of Henan Province. The accident killed 33 people and injured 46.

1993: The mainland-based Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) and the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) reached a common understanding on hijacker repatriation in Xiamen, Fujian Province. "The hijackers are criminal offenders…When the aircraft is hijacked to the other side of the Taiwan Straits, the hijackers should be repatriated to the authorities whom the aircraft belongs to." This was the first negotiation on hijacker repatriation across the Straits.
