From Wiki China org cn

The Bezkilik Thousand Buddha Caves are nestled on the western bank of the Mutou ditch in the center of the Flaming Mountain 40 km from Turpan. Segments of murals are found in 40 of the 83 remaining caves, totaling 1200 sq m. Most of the caves are rectangular while some are square with a pillar in the center. The murals mainly depict jakata stories from the Mayahana Buddhist sutras. On both sides of the entrances are usually pictures of Huihu patrons and inscriptions in both Chinese and Huihu language. In 1982, the caves were designated as a key cultural relic under state protection.
