The Beijing Electron-Position Collider (BEPC) is a complex engineering achievement constructed from tens of thousands of advanced components. Its creation transformed the study of particle physics in China.
The Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of High Energy Physics spent four years designing, and developing the accelerator in collaboration with the central government, and tens of thousands of scientific and technological personnel from hundreds of affiliated factories, institutes and colleges.
