Zunyi Meeting was held by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee between January 15 and 17, 1935 in Zunyi, Guizhou Province. The meeting took place after the Red Army failed in the Fifth Counter Encirclement Campaign and suffered a great loss in an early stage of the Long March. The objectives of the meeting were to rectify Wang Ming’s left-deviationist mistakes and save the Red Army and the revolution.
The meeting affirmed Mao Zedong's military strategies and established Mao’s leadership in CPC and the army.
