Located in Ruicheng County, the construction of the Yongle Palace (永乐宫) began in 1247 and completed in 1358 during Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368), while the famous Yongle Palace murals were painted during the ensuing Ming and Qing dynasties. Covering an area of 86,000 sq. m, its main buildings are arranged along a north-south central axis. It was the most intact compound of buildings left over from the Yuan Dynasty.
