Wang Xiaoli

Wang Xiaoli (王晓理) , born in Hubei Province on October 24, 1988, won the women's doubles Olympic title during the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008. In the 2012 London Olympic Games, Wang and her partner Yu Yang were charged with throwing matches to secure an easier draw in the next round and disqualified from the Olympics for "not using one's best efforts to win".

Wang is a right-hand player who is tall and strong. She boasts considerable explosive force and is skilled in backcourt attack. Wang began to play badminton at 7 and joined the national youth team at 15.
