Wang Jianzhou (王建宙)

Wang Jianzhou (王建宙) is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Mobile Communications Corp.

Wang was born in December 1948 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. He graduated from Zhejiang University's Department of Management Engineering in 1985 with a Master's Degree in Engineering, and holds a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration from Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

From 1992 to 1994, he served as Director of the Telecommunications Bureau of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.

From 1994 to August 1996, he served as Deputy Director of the Post and Telecommunication Bureau of Zhejiang Province.

From August 1996 to February 1999, he served as Director of the Department of Planning and Construction of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, and Director of the Department of General Planning of the Ministry of Information Industry.

From February 1999 to March 2001, he served as Executive Vice President of China United Telecommunications Corporation (China Unicom).

From March 2001 to June 2003, he served as President of China United Telecommunications Corporation (China Unicom).

From June 2003 to November 2004 he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of China United Telecommunications Corporation (China Unicom).

On November 2004 he was made President and Secretary of the Leading Party Group of China Mobile Communications Corp.

In 2010 he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Mobile Communications Corp.

On March 22, 2012, he was relieved of his duty as Chairman of the Board of Directors of China Mobile Communications Corp.
