Wang Chen (王晨)

Born in December 1950 in Beijing, Wang Chen began his career in January 1969 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in December 1969. He received a master's degree in journalism from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

In January 1969, he went to live and work in Yijun Country of Yan'an, Shaanxi Province.

From September 1970 to September 1973, he worked in the Publicity Department and Office of Yijun County Party Committee, Shaanxi Province.

From September 1973 to September 1974, he worked in the Office of Yan'an Prefectural Party Committee, Shaanxi Province.

From September 1974 to September 1979, he was a correspondent for the domestic department of Guangming Daily.

From September 1979 to August 1982, he studied at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in its graduate school's journalism department.

From August 1982 to June 1984, he was a correspondent of the political and economic department of Guangming Daily and vice director of its mass work department.

From June 1984 to September 1984, he was director of the mass work department of Guangming Daily.

From September 1984 to August 1986, he was director of Guangming Daily's executive editor's office.

From August 1986 to July 1995, he was the deputy editor-in-chief of Guangming Daily (During this time, from September to November 1991, he studied in the Party School of the Central Committee's program for provincial-level officials.)
