Mazu statue in Tianhou Temple

Located in Zhanghua County, Tianhou Temple is one of the most important relics in Taiwan; it is No. 1 among some 400 Mazu Temples on the island.

Tianhou Temple, also known "Xinghua Mazu Temple," was built in 1685 during the Qing Dynasty by a Fujiangese from Xinghua County. It is one of the "Four Biggest Mazus" with magnificent and imposing buildings and majestic and grand halls.
