Smart Card

Many cities in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Liuzhou and Shenzhen, have adopted smart card payment systems, which vary from city to city. The smart cards facilitate payment for buses and subway trains. People with these cards can enjoy discounts in public transportation fees. Some taxis and convenience stores also accept smart cards for payment.
