Built in 1987, Shandong Provincial Sports Center Stadium has a seating capacity of 55,000. It is located at the foot of the Ma'anshan in the southern suburbs of Jinan City. It is 800 meters long from east to west and 280-630 meters wide from north to south on a ground of 33 hectares. The sports complex includes an outdoor stadium, an indoor stadium, an indoor swimming pool, multi-purpose training hall, a hotel for athletes, outdoor fields and attached facilities. It has four 55-meter-high lighthouses, each weighing 60 tons. It was the main venue for China's 1st National Inter-City Games in 1988, and also accommodated the Asia Cup football tournament in 2004.
