Qi Baishi

On September 16, 1957, Qi Baishi, president of the Association of Chinese Artists, died at the age of 97. Qi was awarded the "International Peace Award" in 1955.

Calligraphy by Master Qi Baishi

Qi Baishi was one of China's most famous 20th century painters. He was born into a peasant family from Xiangtan, Hunan. After working as a carpenter, Qi became a world famous painter, and made extraordinary contribution to the development of Chinese art.
