The National Youth Network Civilization Convention was issued at an internet conference jointly hosted on Nov. 22, 2001, by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, State Council Information Office, All-China Youth Federation, All-China Students' Federation, National Children's Work Coordination Committee and China Youth Association for Network Development.
According to the convention, young people should absorb useful and not harmful information from the internet, communicate in an honest and not insulting manner, strengthen self-protection consciousness, maintain internet security, and not indulge in time-wasting activities.
Thousands of youths attended the online conference.
