Located in the northwest of Dengfeng County, Mount Songshan is one of the Five Great Mountains in China. It is also noted for its reputation as the Mecca of Chinese gongfu, because of its association with the Shaolin Temple.
Built in 495, Shaolin Temple boasts a long martial arts tradition stretching back to the Tang Dynasty. The fresh air and beautiful scenery of Mount Songshan provides the best practice site for masters of Chinese gongfu.
