Located on Elephant Hill west of Yuexiu Park in Guangzhou, the Mausoleum of King Wen of Nanyue was discovered in 1983. Nanyue's capital was Guangzhou, then called Panyu, and it was contemporary with the late Western Han Dynasty (206BC-25AD). The mausoleum has now turned into a museum, and it is a key national cultural preservation site.

The body of the king was dressed in a suit made of pieces of jade sewn together with silk. A gold seal inscribed with the words "King Wen" and a jade stamp inscribed with the words "Zhao Mei" (the king's name) were discovered in addition to over 1,000 other burial objects in the tomb.
