The village was built before the Yuan Dynasty and was famous for its high-quality colored glaze extensively used in Ming and Qing Dynasty palaces. After the foundation of PRC, the product of the village was used in the Great Hall of the People, the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse, and so on.
