Li Yuanchao, ethnic Han, native of Lianshui, Jiangsu Province, born in November 1950. Joined the CPC in March 1978 and began working in November 1968. With a postgraduate education at the Central Party School, he holds the title of LLD.
Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress.
1968-1972: Worker of Shanghai Farm in Dafeng County, Jiangsu Province.
1972-1974: Student of the Department of Mathematics of Shanghai Normal University.
1974-1975: Teacher of Nanchang Middle School in Shanghai.
1975-1978: Teacher of Luwan District Sparetime Vocational School in Shanghai.
1978-1982: Student majoring in mathematics at the Department of Mathematics of Fudan University, deputy secretary and secretary of the CYLC general branch of the department.
