Li Liguo
Li Liguo (李立国), minister of Civil Affairs
Born in November 1953 in Yutian, Hebei Province, Li started working in January 1970 and joined the Communist Party of China in November 1974. He graduated from Northeastern University of Technology majoring in engineering management as an on-job postgraduate with the Master of Engineering.
From January 1970 to May 1974, Li worked in the Shenyang Building Machinery Plant in Liaoning Province.
From May 1974 to January 1977, Li was a clerical worker in charge of the Youth League Committee with the Shenyang Building Materials Bureau, Liaoning Province, and the secretary of the Youth League committee of the Headquarter of Building Materials Base in Kangjiashan and vice director of the Political Division.
From January 1977 to May 1979, Li was the supervisor and Party branch secretary of the Kangjiashan Railway Management Segment in Liaoning Province, and vice secretary of the General Party Branch of the Kangjiashan Sandstone Mine and vice director.
From May 1979 to September 1982, Li was the vice secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Shenyang Building Materials Bureau, Liaoning Province, and secretary of the General Party branch of the Shenyang Toughened Glass Manufactory.
From September 1982 to June 1985, Li was the vice secretary of the Party Committee of the Shenyang Asbestos Product Factory in Liaoning Province, secretary of the Party Committee of Asbestos-cement Factory, and vice secretary of the Party Committee of the Building Materials Bureau.
From June 1985 to January 1990, Li was the vice secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC), and member of leading Party group.
From January 1990 to January 1993, Li was vice mayor of Panjin City, Liaoning Province.
From January 1993 to August 1995, Li was the secretary-general of the Party Committee of Tibet Autonomous Region and secretary of the Working Committee Directly Affiliated to the Region.
From August 1995 to January 1999, Li was the member of the Standing Committee and general-secretary of the Party Committee of Tibet Autonomous Region, and secretary of the Working Committee Directly Affiliated to the Region.
From January 1999 to August 2001, Li was the vice secretary and secretary-general of the Party Committee of Tibet Autonomous Region, and secretary of the Working Committee Directly Affiliated to the Region.
From August 2001 to January 2003, Li was vice secretary of the Party Committee of Tibet Autonomous Region.
From January 2003 to November 2003, Li was the vice secretary of the Party Committee of Tibet Autonomous Region, vice chairman of the CPPCC of Tibet Autonomous Region, and secretary of the leading Party group.
From November 2003 to December 2005, Li was the member of the leading Party group and vice minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
From December 2005 to June 2010, Li was the vice secretary of the leading Party group and executive vice minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
On June 25, 2010, Li was appointed as minster of Civil Affairs by the Standing Committee of the NPC.
