Lei Sheng

Lei Sheng (雷声) , born in Tianjin on March 7, 1984, won the gold medal in men's individual foil after beating Alaaeldin Abouelkassem of Egypt 15-13 at the 2012 London Olympics. He has been named China's flag-bearer at the Rio Olympic Games opening ceremony.

His name literally means “thunder” in the Chinese language. According to his coach, he is tall enough but needs to gain more competition experience and improve his strength.
