Jiao Liuyang

Chinese Olympian Jiao Liuyang (焦刘洋) was born in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province on August 6, 1991. She is a swimmer who specializes in the butterfly stroke. Jiao won the silver medal in the women's 200m butterfly race during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. She also captured gold in the women's 200m butterfly during the 2012 London Olympics.

During the 2005 National Games, Jiao finished second in the women's 200m butterfly. This remarkable result launched her career as a swimming star. Jiao made her way onto the Chinese national team in November, 2005.
