The Hubei Provincial Museum is also located on the shore of East Lake in Wuhan. It boasts China's largest collection of ancient musical instruments. Of its 200,000 exhibits, many are rare in the world, such as the painted clay spinning wheel of the Neolithic era Qujialing Culture, the jade human and eagle figures of the Shijiahe Culture; the jade ge (spear), bronze ding (tripot) and yue (battle axe) from the Shang period ruins in Panlongcheng; the bronze chime bells, the 16-section jade dragon-and-phoenix pendant, and the 28 constellation carving unearthed from the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zen. Other precious items include the famous sword of King Gou Jian of Yue, a gold cup and deer antler drum-stand with crane, phoenix and tiger patterns, a blue porcelain lotus-shaped cup from the Northern and Southern Dynasties Period (420-589), terra-cotta musician figurines from the Tang Dynasty (618-907), etc.
