Hoh Xil Nature Reserve

Hoh Xil, situated in Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the southwestern Qinghai, was made a nature reserve in October 1995 and was upgraded to a state-level on in December 1997. Bordering Qinghai Province and Tibet Autonomous Region, it covers an area of 45,000 sq. km south of Mount Kunlun and north of Mount Wulanwula. It is also China’s largest and highest nature reserve with the richest wildlife resources, including Tibetan antelope (Chiru).
