Situated in the northern suburbs of Yinchuan, Haibao Tower is also known as the North Tower, in relation to Chengtian Tower in the southwestern corner of the city. It is a 11-story brick structure standing 53.9 m high. A tunnel in the basement leads up to the platform of the tower seat. Winding one’s way up to the ninth story, one may command a panoramic view of the Helan Mountains and the Yellow River. The tower is noted for its clean lines and unique architectural style. It is now under state protection.
