The front gate of Guiyuan Zen Temple, Hubei

A famous Zen shrine at the foot of Cuiwei Peak in Hanyang, the Guiyuan Zen Temple (归元禅寺) was built in 1658 during the reign period of the Qing Emperor Shunzhi. It is a five-courtyard compound covering an area of two hectares, laying out in the shape of monk's robe.

What makes the temple is its Arhat Hall that houses 500 arhat statues sculpted into various vivid expresses.
