Grand Alliance of Chinese Liberty

From Wiki China org cn

Renowned Chinese left-wing writers and artists including Lu Xun, Rou Shi, Yu Dafu, Tian Han, Xia Yan and Feng Xuefeng established the Grand Alliance of Chinese Liberty in Shanghai on February 12, 1930, an anti-Kuomintang organization campaigning for the freedom of speech, publishing, association and gathering. The alliance published a magazine named Freedom Movement and recruited members from schools, art clubs and workers' unions for its 50 branches. The communist-led alliance was oppressed by Kuomintang since its establishment; it disbanded when its chairman, Long Dadao, was murdered by Kuomintang in February, 1931.
